Check Mate

Can we just talk about how cute this bag is for a second? It's small, compact and fits all the essentials inside with ease. The metal ring detail looks classy and the colour makes it a classic piece. I was inspired by designer, Chloe, noticing that they started adding in gold hardware in the shape of a ring, whether it's just for detail or it's a handle, it's a look that I'm obsessed with at the minute.

This simple detail transforms this bag from an everyday item to a fashion statement without overwhelming the outfit.

The blazer paired with this light washed denim instead of opting for black gives it a summer refresh to look light and airy. It's a piece you can wear year round; for summer evenings to a beer garden or bar, pair with a light washed pair of denim shorts and silk top and a gold layered necklace and for those more colder days (hoping we won't have any for a while) pair with black jeans and a plain white jumper. The blazer is a statement piece that is best worn with subtle texturing and neutral colours.

Fit to Flare

The last time I wore flares was when Britney Spears was number one in the chart! I remember them well- they were light washed denim with pink butterflies scattered on them. I loved them.

I'm ditching the denim flares, for now. However, the character Sophia from the Netflix series Girlboss wears them and looks SUPER amazing so, I might have to find a pair of denim flares and relive the 90's.

For now though - these wide legged trousers are all for comfort! I've gone full volume with these trousers so, I've played it slim by finishing the outfit off with a blazer to add structure to the silhouette. The high-waisted nature of these accentuates my legs making them look longer, and makes the waist appear smaller as they sit higher than jeans would. There a piece that can dramatically transition into an alternative evening look.

I did find it hard to choose shoes to match these. I think pairing these with heels would give this outfit a chicness but for the park, I stuck to trainers.

Feeling Lighter - How to Dress for Humid Weather

I've forever been a fan of the midi skirt. It's simple, effortless and the perfect transitional piece. They are ideal for that in-between weather we have in England- the humid kind.

I like this one because it's not too tight yet still has that figure hugging feel- this style of midi skirt is better suited for those lazy Sundays. A loosely fitted shirt juxtaposes the tighter fit of the skirt and trainers keeps the outfit casual and cool.

In the hotter months, I tend to opt for little or no jewellery. This small chained bracelet from Tiffany&Co is perfect to add intricate detailing to an otherwise plain outfit. If you wanted to dress up the outfit for a walk in the city, statement earrings would be a chic addition.

Outside my Comfort Zone

It was in Sixth Form when I was completely put off wearing trousers. I decided to go and buy brown chinos as an alternative to dresses and skirts. I put them on wore them to school and just felt gross. I was having a classic girl moment of feeling ugly and fat. I hated them by the end of the day and swore off ever wearing any sort of trouser that didn't involve denim again. Until now, I was having a splurge on Topshop sale and came across these! I don't know what made me buy them I think the fact that I want to start playing around with my style and to try new things maybe. I'm very happy I did take a chance on these as they are comfy, smart and suit my body shape better than I expected. I also think going for a trouser that is above the ankle looks great with boots and flats, and it shows off one of the smallest parts of a woman's body making them very flattering!

Gucci Gucci Gucci, the brand is all over my Instagram at the moment and if it's not the Gucci belt then it's Gucci slogan tee, not forgetting the infamous Gucci loafers! I love the simple style of the loafer so I took it upon myself to find a pair similar, good for everyday use and a lot cheaper. So, say hello to these beauties from New Look. They are perfect for work and they go with any outfit and are very on trend.

Going: S O M E W H E R E

Sundays are the best day of the week especially if you spend them by the seaside.

The key to nailing beach wear in April is layering. Living in England we don't know what will happen, especially at the coast...it may look sunny but it was very windy. Layering a shirt, jumper and jacket are good because you can take layers off if the weather gets warmer whilst you're out.

I've wanted a slogan sweatshirt for ages but found they were all a bit over-priced for what they were. Until I found this one on Mango in the sale! It's simple, comfy and looks great when layered over the top of a collared shirt, I feel like I've walked out of an Abercrombie advert (I wish...).

Double denim is a trend I've always loved, a denim jacket is so easy to wear. Go oversized for a more effortless, comfy style. I find tighter denim jackets are a bit uncomfortable as denim is a stiffer material. Also, for layering a baggy fit is better.
